    Getting back into community-based activities

It can be difficult getting back into activities after illness, injury or surgery. But it is important that you do. Taking part in meaningful activity is good for you. It can also help your recovery. If you are not sure what activities you can take part in, talk to your healthcare provider.

Home support services for older people and others

Older people, those with chronic health conditions, or people with mental health or addiction issues, may be able to get funded support at home.

    Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a support service that prepares and delivers a hot midday meal. The service is for eligible people who cannot prepare their own meals because of age, a disability or an illness.

Resources to help you stay living at home

Seniorline has created a network of resources to help you find the support you need to stay living at home. Seniorline helps you find the wider services you may need in older age, beyond just health.

    Residential care

Residential care is care provided in a rest home, private hospital or dementia facility. You may consider it when someone you care about has poor physical or cognitive health and can no longer live safely at home. The decision can be difficult for all whānau members.

    Seniorline

Seniorline is a national information service that helps older people find their way around the health system and to access support services. Freephone (NZ) 0800 725 463
